My personal favorites are numbers 1, 3, and 8, most especially 8 -- I cannot tell you how often I do NOT want to go to the studio (yoga) but I go, regardless of whatever, and I may have no flexibility nor strength nor anything and It might totally suck but I show up. It's like writing, I write regardless how I feel, and sometimes I write dreck but sometimes I get words I'd never have seen had I followed my feelings or mood or whatever instead of writing daily. 1. Dive for dollars. 3. Embarrass yourself. 8. Go through the motions. Really a sweet list, some great ideas, and very positive. One of the things I always tell my clients is that when exercising becomes a nuisance, or just another obligation, than it won't be sustainable for you. Don't put yourself on a very strict regimen....go to the gym with no agenda, do whatever you feel like, take a class, list weights, shake it up!! Two ways are slightly ridiculous - would you really take a picture of your naked self holding a sign with your e-mail address on it, then ask a friend to post it on MySpace if you haven’t improved after 12 weeks? And trust me: buying a year’s worth of protein powder will not motivate you; it will only make you feel poor and angry at GNC.
