Top 10 Ways to Lose Weight

Most people today want to lose at least a little bit of weight, but they think they’d have to starve themselves to do so. Fortunately, there are many ways to lose weight and none of the ones that work involve giving up all your favorite foods.

1. Take the stairs. Even the tiniest bit of extra activity gets your metabolism running faster than it would have otherwise. Plus the extra effort will energize you.

2. Small substitutions in food. To really lose weight and keep it off, you start by making small changes in your diet which will get you started losing weight. Moreover, you won’t over stress your body and you’re more likely to keep the weight off.

3. Eat more lean protein, like fish and chicken. Protein is the most complex nutrient you eat, so it takes your body a longer time to digest it. It increases your metabolism, and you build lean muscle, which is key to keeping a high metabolism and burning off fat.

4. Drink lots of water. It helps your body to digest food more efficiently and keeps your cells hydrated.

5. Eat slowly. Aside from improving your table manners, eating slowly will make you feel more satisfied after every meal so you won’t feel like you’re still hungry afterwards. Also, if you take the time to chew your food carefully, then your body will be able to better digest it.

6. Eat more greens. Like protein, green vegetables are complex nutrients. Unlike simple, refined sugars, they take a longer time to digest so you feel full longer after eating.

7. Keep moving. Even small movements made consistently over the course of the day can allow your body to burn an extra 300 calories. So if you’re sitting down, tap your feet or even wiggle your toes so you’re not inactive.

8. Eat ‘light’ foods. Instead of buying canned tuna fish in oil, get it in water. Drink skim milk instead of whole milk. Use olive oil for cooking, not vegetable oil. It might not seem like much, but you’ll be cutting a lot of unhealthy, saturated fats out of your diet.

9. Move a little faster. If you’re walking around the grocery store or the office, increase your pace a little. It’ll help you burn more calories and increase your metabolism.

10. Eat something after exercising. It’ll help your body recharge and keep your metabolism functioning at a higher rate for a little while longer.

For all of these things, start out small and be patient. No one ever lost all their excess weight over night. But as long as you continue to make healthy choices, you’ll shed some of those extra pounds.

It’s simply amazing how small acts of everyday life can help us maintain good weight. A big problem is that these days we can get all sorts of precooked food. You can keep your weight low by cooking your own food because then you can decide how much sugar, salt and oil you want to add to it. It also gives you lots of physical exercise.

    Hi,

I used to be pretty obese and started putting on a lot of weight especially on my thighs and bottom in my late thirties. I started exercising as often as possible and also cut down on a lot of high calorie stuff. Unfortunately I hardly managed to lose any weight at all. I then recently read an article by a lady who claimed that she managed to lose nearly half of her weight using a particular weight loss product. I tried it out and it actually worked really well. Within 4 months I managed to shave off 65 pounds completely. The results were pretty amazing and I feel so much healthier and energetic now without having to carry all that extra weight around. You can read more about the lady’s article at the link below
